About Me
Hello! I'm Andrew. I'm a teacher, teaching artist, and storyteller living in Chicago.
As an elementary classroom teacher, I work to empower the young people I teach through a foundation of mutual respect, a democratic classroom structure, student empowerment, rigorous expectations, and a sensibility of playful exploration. As a drama teacher and teaching artist with a decade of classroom experience, I have the profound privilege of making original performances with young people, supporting them in their development as people, artists, and learners. I work to empower their voices, sharpen their sensibilities, and help them ask and answer their own critical questions using performance techniques. As a storyteller and performer, I believe in the power of human connection through honest, personal narrative, and I believe that everyone's story deserves to be heard. I work to push the limits of authenticity and play in my own storytelling, and I work to amplify the voices of folks we don't hear enough of. Thank you for visiting my professional page.
